A few years ago I worked on a fashion project for the Pearl S. Buck Foundation.  They were going to sell my wearable art in their museum shop.  I received the grand tour of Pearl Buck's homestead in Bucks County, PA. from their wonderful CFO.  I felt honored!  Although, Pearl Buck passed away in 1973, her legacy is strong and relevant even today.  She was an American writer and poet who was the first woman to receive the distinguished honor of a Nobel Prize in literature.  She also received a Purlitzer prize for her book "The Good Earth".  Her stories were rich with culture and peasant life in China where she lived for 40 years with her missionary parents.  When touring her homestead there was a beautiful 'Goddess of Compassion' statue in her office.  That said it all for me, because that's who she was.  She advocated for rights of women and minority groups.  She was well known for her efforts on behalf of Asian and mixed-race adoptions.  So out of over hundreds of photographs I took that day, the biggest take-away was the 'Goddess of Compassion' statue.  Introducing a tank top perfect for yoga and simply representing who you are in the world.
